"Good day, I wanted to take a brief moment to provide feedback on David James, who was occupying Yellowknife Tower on the evening of 13 Feb 2024. This was my first time flying after months of controlling and I had inadvertently faced many technical issues. David was burdened with managing IFR traffic as well as one other VFR in the pattern, while simultaneously ensuring that my lack of understanding of flying did not interfere with normal airport operations. Needless to say, David demonstrated excellence and quick-thinking skills, flawlessly handling both VFR and IFR traffic with immaculate phraseology. Realizing that I was in the pattern at only 90 knots, he instructed the other VFR aircraft to join the opposite hand pattern to preemptively address the possibility of traffic conflicts. David demonstrated exceptional skills as a Tower controller and should be commended for his excellence. Best, James Lu CG-YHZ"
